It’s time again to reflect on your favorite recipes of the year with the Best Recipes of 2023: the year in review! Looking back over the past year and sharing what you guys love most is one of my favorite posts of the year. Feel free to check out last year’s most popular too.

Thank you all for being here, for being kind, and for helping through the year. I love cooking for you! Also, I want you to know how much your kind comments and thoughts mean to me. I love it when you love a recipe and maybe it even becomes part of your traditions!

When you visit my blog you support a woman-owned small business. And when I say small, I mean it! I don’t have writers and photographers – I do all the recipe development, testing, photographing, and writing by myself.

That’s what you do when you come to a blog ~ you’re supporting another person with no cost whatsoever to you! How cool is that!

I’ll start the review with some of my favorite recipes that didn’t make the top 9. I mean, they’re all like my children and I love them all, but if I have to choose, these are the ones.

Then we’ll dive into the top 9 recipes, as voted for by you, my readers, with your visits to my blog. Did yours make the list? What’s YOUR favorite recipe of mine that you make? I’d love to know!

Thank you!

Thanks to everyone for being here with me. I love coming up with new recipes and with reworking and updating old recipes.

This year I did a mix of updating old recipes and creating new recipes. Some of my new recipes from the end of the year had to be created because of our home remodel. Check out my practical tips for surviving a kitchen remodel – I even have a bunch of easy to make recipes that’ll help you!

Favorites you may have missed

Not every recipe can make the top 9, even though I think they all deserve to! So, here are some of my favorite recipes that you may have missed.

I’ve broken them down into categories: breakfast, favorites, soups, easy meals & side dishes, and desserts.

Make sure to keep scrolling to see all the top 9 recipes at the bottom of the post.

Breakfasts

These peanut butter oatmeal muffins are so good! Moist and full of flavor without being heavy or greasy. And I like how easy they are for breakfast.

These peanut butter parfaits have been on my blog for many years and they continue to be one of my favorites. I like to make them and keep them in the fridge for a super easy breakfast that’s high protein with peanut butter and yogurt.

Favorites

I fell in love with the Jennifer Aniston Saladthis year. It’s a quinoa base filled with lots of veggies and nuts. It’s healthy, filling, and super delicious. I like to make it when my husband is on business travel. I can just go to the fridge and serve up a nice quick meal for myself. serve it with a nice Pineapple mint mocktail for a refreshing light meal.

I’ve made this pepper jelly recipe for years. It’s great on a cheese plate or smear it on a grilled cheese sandwich. I’ve use it in Pepper Jelly shrimp, Pepper Jelly Cream Cheese Pinwheels, and Pepper Jelly cheese Balls. So I decided that it needed a space of its own.

We make these Chow Mein Noodles all the time. It’s a quick recipe that only takes about 15 minutes. And I always have the ingredients in the house. It’s a go-to recipe for us!

Soups

I feel like my blog has always been known for the soups I share. They continue to be one of the most popular categories.

Tortilla soup has been another go to recipe in my house. You can leave this simple or gussy it up with fun toppings.

Crock Pot Minestroneis a recipe I keep in my back pocket for when I want more veggies in my meals and I don’t want to do lots of work. This is one I was even able to make during the house construction.

Easy meals & side dishes

Quick and easy meals have been my go-to lately. It’s hard to make anything especially anything complicated without a real kitchen.

Here are several dishes that I made many times throughout the year, and I think they should be on everyone’s table!

This Rice Cooker Mealis one that I’ve made many times now. So easy to just pop everything in the rice cooker and come back to serve it up when it’s all done. Once you get used to the recipe, you probably won’t even measure the ingredients.

Shrimp ramen is super easy. It’s made in a skillet on the stove, with no boiling and draining pasta water at all. You gotta try it!

Easy tuna noodle casseroleis a no bake recipe that my husband made years ago. I gave it a facelift for the blog this year, and this recipe stands up to the test of time.

Mushroom Stroganoff made with rice instead of pasta is one of the first dishes I learned to make so many years ago as a vegetarian. It’s from Weight Watchers, and it’s a delicious and easy meal.

Desserts

Well, you gotta have some fun along the way. And desserts are fun.

These Brown Butter Sea Salt Cookies might just be my favorite cookies of all time! Easy to make and so full of flavor! I mean, if you only make one cookie this year, make this one!

I made Skull Cakesfor Day of the Dead or Halloween, but the cake recipe is so good you could make it as cupcakes for any occasion.

Show someone you love them with Puff Pastry Hearts. These pastries are easy to make and so much fun, with just 2 ingredients and lots of love that goes into them.
